  Important Oregon Travel Information:

• East/West travel between the coastal highway of 101 and I-5 is time consuming. The roads are paved, well-maintained and very scenic. However, they are narrow and winding with speeds ranging between 25 and 45 mph in some places. You will enjoy the drive, just know in advance it will take longer than you might think.

• We highly recommend travelers use the ‘major’ roads between 101 and I-5 that appear on maps in red or pink ink. These are well-traveled roads and there are services and sights to see along the way. They are also ‘faster’ than roads marked in black or grey that may not be paved. ‘Short-cuts’ in Oregon rarely pay off.
