Outdoor Logging Museum - Collier State Park has an open-air logging museum and pioneer log cabin village, gift shop, and trails for anglers and hikers along the Williamson River and Spring Creek. Some of the best fly fishing is right here where the confluence of Spring Creek meets the Williamson River. You can expect to snap up a nice rainbow trout or brook trout. Across Highway 97 is the Outdoor Logging Museum, which is full of antique logging equipment. The Park area is grassy and relaxing and has a large campground for both tent and RV camping. Don’t miss the Living History Day on June 18th with period costumes, live steam engines, demonstrations, hay rides, entertainment and great food. Picnic & camping, mid April through October. Full hookups, tent sites, restrooms with hot showers, RV dump station. One of the nation's largest outdoor logging museums, with a pioneer village. Hiking, biking, bird-watching, fishing. 46000 Hwy 97 N. 541-783-2471 Train Mountain, All Aboard! An one-eighth scale railroad. Anyone who's wanted to ride the rails will love Train Mountain Railroad Museum. Over 13 miles of 7 ½ gauge mainline track winds through 2,000 acres of Ponderosa pine forest, with another 12 miles of yards, sidings, and connector tracks. This non-profit organization, dedicated to preserving railroad heritage, is proud of the title, “Longest Miniature Hobby Railroad.” Train Mountain offers two-seat trolley rentals for the public on weekdays, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 pm. For the $20/hour fee you get to explore miles of track with little model towns, mills, and tunnels along the way. Advance reservations required at 541.783.3030
Fort Klamath Museum and Park - On the road to Crater Lake, stop
by the first frontier military post in the region which was
established here in 1863. The guardhouse (museum) exhibits fort
relics, pictures and has a small gift shop. Picnic under the
pines and let your imagination paint a picture of the past. The
gravesites of Captain Jack, Modoc Chief, and three warriors are
a short distance from the museum. The Little Red Post Office was
moved to the grounds in 1998 to preserve the postal history of
the Klamath Indian Agency. During summer months, the Living
History Association of Oregon stages reenactments in period
clothing. Ask about dates. 51400 Highway 62, Chiloquin, OR, 97624
